Tool Magazine - Orbital Head.

12-position tool magazine plus a dedicated 350mm blade housing, located on the mobile column; together with the automatic tool-change electro-spindle, these allow for tool replacement at any position within the working field, optimizing cycle times and enhancing production efficiency. The 8.5kW Orbital Hiteco head (10kW optional) ensures a compact footprint and the capability to process short workpieces.

Motorized CNC-controlled clamps allow for the secure clamping of multiple workpieces simultaneously, enabling sequential cutting and automatic displacement along the longitudinal axis with CNC-guaranteed accuracy of a few hundredths. The cutting module and rapid tool change minimize execution times, increasing operational yield and optimizing productivity.

Technical specifications

5-axis CNC machining center designed for processing aluminum bars or workpieces, light alloys, PVC, and steel. It features two operating modes: the first enables machining and cutting of full-length bars in a single work area (Mdt cycle – cutting module, cut and separate); the second, in pendulum mode, allows for the processing of up to 4 workpieces across two distinct work areas.

All CNC axes, including the CN-controlled clamps, are absolute and do not require homing upon machine restart. It is equipped with 8 standard motorized clamps which, in dynamic pendulum mode, reposition independently and in masked time relative to the spindle’s machining processes in the opposite work field.

The 5 axes allow the electro-spindle to rotate +/- 321° on the C-axis and +/- 181° continuously on the A-axis, enabling machining on all profile faces. It features a 12-station tool magazine located directly on the X-axis carriage, plus a dedicated blade compartment housing a 350 mm diameter saw blade.

Rapid X-axis movements up to 130 m/min with 4.2 m/s² acceleration. The two cabin doors, mobile along the Y-axis, facilitate workpiece loading and unloading. MAM cycle (clamp movement during the cycle) as standard. MAB cycle (step-by-step bar advancement module) as an option.

Kinema CNC, Mitsubishi drives and motors, CadCam3D software; Cadlink option available for importing STEP or IGES files from 3D design software. Linear and circular interpolation on three axes (XYZ).
